ValleyCon next weekend!
On October 15th-17th, Fargo’s Doublewood Inn will host the 36th Annual ValleyCon Entertainment Expo, North Dakota’s own science fiction, fantasy, horror, and popular culture convention. I will be one of the guests, and Cornerboys will be screened during the Fargo Fantastic Film Festival hosted by the Con. I don’t have a time for the screening yet, but I’ll be sure to post it here when I find out. I’m nearly certain it will be at some point on Saturday.
If you’re in Fargo this weekend, I’ll be giving a lecture at NDSU on Carmilla and Irish nationalism at 3pm in the Student Union. Then on Saturday and Sunday I’ll be at the Con. Ali LaRock and I will be on a filmmakers panel at 4pm, and then immediately afterwards I’ll be on a panel about vampires with Tony Tilton, one of the convention organizers and a fellow vampire aficionado. There may possibly be another something I’ll be involved in on Sunday, but at any rate I’ll be there wandering around, so say hi if you’re there.
Ali and I will be handing out the much-coveted Cornerboys buttons, and would love to talk with you about the film or anything else you might fancy. I’m also looking forward to having some real Indian and/or Thai food, something which doesn’t exist in Bismarck. Hoo-rah.
